Bridging the Gap between Science and Decision-Makers Workshop
The Ecological Monitoring & Assessment Network Coordinating Office led a workshop entitled Bridging the Gap between Science and Decision-Makers: Tools for Effective Research and Monitoring Programs that Influence and Inform, at the sixth annual conference of Science and the Management of Protected Areas (SAMPAA) held at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. The goal of the May 24th workshop was to integrate the models, approaches and experiences represented by the participants towards the establishment of common priorities and identify best practices for addressing the science/decision-maker interface. The EMAN Coordinating Office will synthesize the ideas, experiences and best practices expressed at the workshop to develop a “How-to” guide. Abstracts will be made available on the EMAN website.
