National Science Meeting postponed until the fall of 2008

The 2008 Ecological Monitoring and Assessment Network (EMAN) National Science Meeting originally planned to be held from April 30th to May 2nd at the Chateau Cartier Resort in Gatineau, Québec, has been postponed until the fall of 2008.

As you may know, Environment Canada is currently undertaking a review of ecological monitoring including the role of the Ecological Monitoring and Assessment Network (EMAN) Coordinating Office. The results of this review will be compiled in a discussion document that will be available for comment later this year. It is anticipated that a fall meeting will better allow the Department to present its findings.

In addition, the postponement will allow Environment Canada to emphasize more strongly the role of monitoring in the existing theme of Canadian Biodiversity Adaptation in a Changing Climate.

We thank all those who sent in abstracts for presentations and posters. We will be communicating with each if you to determine whether these can be used for a fall meeting.

The logistics of the meeting will be posted on this website as soon as possible.
